AI and Metaverse- A revolution in the making

Technology refers to any application of applied science or mathematics to solve a problem within society. But because of its rapid pace, keeping up with technological advancements has been a challenge for many. Flashback to the old days when there was just a thought that there could be some machine that could perform calculations instantly; none of us believed in the hypothesis. As said, necessity is the mother of invention, innovations happened in technology, and we were provided with enormous advancements. We’re now in an age where there is no doubt whatever we think of could not be done by computing. Imitating human intelligence, smartphones, smart cars, etc., and AI tools such as Siri, Google Assistant, Cortana, and Alexa, have shown what technology can do for humankind.

Now, as we’re in the peak generation of advancements where everything relies purely on technology, the innovations like Metaverse have become entirely relevant. However, it’s hard to come up with one definition of Metaverse that everyone agrees on, yet in simpler words, the concept of Metaverse can be thought of as next-generation technology. As a future version of the internet, which is a concept of a persistent, online, Metaverse is a 3D universe that combines multiple different virtual spaces. Also, we have been experiencing early versions of the Metaverse in our real lives for the past two decades – from social media sites such as Second Life and Habbo Hotel to massively multiplayer online games such as World of Warcraft and Fortnite to Pokémon GO and Wizards Unite. Moreover, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, physical contact has decreased – but it is now starting to ‘normalize’, which paved the way to the familiarity of Metaverse. We might imagine the Metaverse in the future as an immersive, hyper-realistic virtual world that caters to all of our senses. But from where we stand today, it’s clear that the Metaverse isn’t evolving in one direction. There are some developments that are indeed bringing us closer to virtual worlds for general purposes, but others serve a more specific purpose – many of which are associated with work and industry.

The metaverse can potentially immerse users in an alternate universe using virtual or augmented reality. Despite the fact that this technology is still in its infancy, companies such as Meta are developing it and improving it. Creating a virtual world supported by lines of code could open up new revenue streams for companies. The opportunities are limitless and based on how few countries have adopted an increasingly digital life, the change is already taking place.

Is the metaverse headed for a bright future?

There is a lot of talk about the future of AI and whether it will be a threat or an opportunity.

Many people are worried about AI as a threat. But there is also a lot of hope that AI could be an opportunity for businesses and professions to create new ways of working, including in the domain of copywriting. and translation. In an article published in the New York Times, IBM’s CEO says AI is a threat to us. However, another IBM executive thinks that AI could be used to create totally new business models. Dr. Thad Starner from Akamai Technologies says it’s not just about jobs losing their roles in human or machine-based operations. It also seems that AI could actually improve life for humans as well – especially when it comes to things like medical diagnosis and diagnosis of problems such as cancer and heart disease: “AI can do a great job at diagnosing”

The future of AI is interesting and complex. AI has been making huge strides toward prediction and understanding language, however, it remains a long way from producing perfect results. It is a tremendously complicated field of study and it will be some time before we can fully understand its potential.

What has metaverse provided since its emergence?

Seeing revolutionary growth within the last few years, Metaverse has risen from just a concept to a potential technology that may facilitate how we perceive the world. While in layman’s terms, it is still considered a parallel universe that is inhabited by users in the form of avatars, where they can interact with each other and with digital objects, in real-time, the technology has drastically upgraded a number of opportunities, and benefits, including Social Connectivity, Virtual Events, Business Opportunities, Education, Gaming, Art & Culture and much more. Learn how Virtual Events are the next innovation in the event industry here. From the development of real-time applications like the recent Pokemon Go to the creation of virtual environments such as Second Life and OpenSimulator, virtual reality has evolved over time to be more and more relevant in our daily lives. The future of Virtual Reality still holds many unknowns for us as consumers, developers, and VR enthusiasts alike.

In addition to this, the Metaverse is the center of virtual events since it offers a virtual platform that enables people to participate completely in immersive and interactive events like concerts, festivals, conferences, and trade exhibitions. Virtual events have emerged over the past several years as a novel and exciting method for individuals to take in live events from the convenience of their own homes. However, one thing is certain – this is a game changer that will have a far-reaching impact in shaping tomorrow’s social interactions with technology. This opens up a whole new avenue for understanding the brain and triggering desired behavior. Where do we go from here? For now, it seems that the possibilities are endless.
